Please see below letter from the 3SCTS 2021/22 Organising Committee:

Dear 3SCTS Delegate,

In view of the recent events across Australia, and the growing Covid situation, the inaugural Tri-Society Cardiac & Thoracic Symposium (3SCTS) will be postponed to the 16 – 19 November 2022, from the previously changed date of March 2022. It is the view of the 3SCTS Organising Committee that if the Symposium is held in March 2022, it would still be very vulnerable to border closures, lockdowns, and a general lack of confidence from participants to travel to Cairns, despite vaccination targets having been met.  It is our view that the 6 months after Australia ‘opens up’ in first half of 2022 will be a very unpredictable time for interstate and Trans-Tasman travel.

The over-arching aim of this meeting is to hold it in person to increase collaboration and collegiality amongst the three societies. The Organising Committee are confident the Symposium can be held successfully in November 2022.

We hope that you will still be able to participate in the Symposium. Your registration will be automatically rolled over to 16 – 19 November 2022. If you cannot attend the new dates and require a refund please let us know.

Abstract submission has been extended until Friday 29 July 2022.

Should you require any additional information in the meantime, please feel free to contact Symposium Organiser on +61 3 9249 1158 or via email 3scts@surgeons.org.

Regards,

On behalf of the 3SCTS 2021 Organising Committee

Jayme Bennetts, President, ANZSCTS

Martin Kim, Deputy Chair, CTVP SIG

Rob Baker, President, ANZCP
