St Vincent’s (Private and Public campuses in Melbourne) is offering a prestigious Da Vinci Robotic Thoracic Surgical Fellowship for the 2026 calendar year – and we’re calling for expressions of interest!
This is your chance to join one of Australasia’s most dynamic and innovative thoracic units, working at the forefront of minimally invasive surgery with the Da Vinci robotic platform.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from:
- Surgeons up to 2 years post-FRACS, or
- Candidates intending to sit the FRACS exam during the fellowship year.
What You’ll Gain:
- High-volume robotic training: 2–3 dedicated robotic lists per week, plus multiple thoracic lists.
- Progressive hands-on experience: From table surgeon to console surgeon under expert mentorship.
- Accreditation: Completion of all modules toward full Robotic Thoracic Surgery Fellowship Accreditation.
- Academic development: Lead a research project in robotic thoracic surgery.
- Clinical leadership: Supervise the SVPH thoracic registrar and share ward coverage.
- Collaborative care: Weekly Combined Lung Clinic and Multidisciplinary Meeting.
Employment & Remuneration:
- Contracted through St Vincent’s Private Hospital Fitzroy with honorary appointment to St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.
- Stipend provided, plus optional private practice and assisting income.
- Post-FRACS Fellows may opt to participate in on-call cardiothoracic arrangements at St Vincent’s Public (subject to approval).
