Specialty or Sub-Specialty Fellowship Training
International medical graduates who wish to spend a period of time working in a fellowship position in Australia or New Zealand should refer to the list of fellowship positions on this website. This list is not exhaustive and there may be posts advertised in medical journals or newspapers. All negotiations are to be directly with hospital and ANZSCTS is unable to assist in this process.

Recognition of Formal Postgraduate Specialist Qualifications
If you are an International Medical Graduate with formal postgraduate specialist qualifications, you are advised to lodge an application for assessment as a specialist or assessment to practice in an Area of Need position through the Australian Medical Council (AMC) or The Medical Council of New Zealand. Your application and documentation will be forwarded to the College for an assessment. For information about practicing in Australia or New Zealand, you should contact The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, The Australian Medical Council and the Medical Council of New Zealand.
International Medical Graduates under Oversight/Supervision
All International Medical Graduates under cardiothoracic assessment must use the IMG Clinical Assessment Report for this purpose. Refer to this link for clinical and specialist assessments forms and checklists.
