Aimed at SET 4 & 5 Trainees and Fellows, this course intends to provide a theoretical and practical foundation for transitioning from open to minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques with a focus on VATS lobectomy. Participants will engage in a discussion about definition, benefits, instrumentation, equipment, positioning, oncological efficacy, surgical technique as well as hearing from a range of Physicians instrumental in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. The practical component will take place on the second day and will involve transferring this knowledge to hands on practice in a live lab setting.
