Dr. Liu Chia-Chuan is a pioneer of Uniportal VATS, he and his team performed Uniportal VATS
anatomic resection since 2010. He further succeed the world first-case of subxiphoid LUL
lobectomy for lung cancer in 2014.
He published around 100 papers in ATS, JTCVS, Ann Surg focused on Uniportal VATS and MIE.

Key points for Uniportal VATS anatomic resection
There is only one straight access from the utility port to the target structure, and this straight
access should be reserved for operator’s right hand, to ensure the maximum degree of freedom
and safety.
For experienced single port surgeon, the best instrument setting will be Harmonic HD1100 in
operator’s right hand for sharp dissection, and long curved sucker inoperator’s left hand
for suction/traction/blunt dissection.
